MMGMA Plans Impactful Summer Conference

The Minnesota Medical Group Management Association (MMGMA) will hold its 2017 Summer Conference from July 26 to 28 at Breezy Point Resort.

“From the opening keynote by entertainer Mark Lindquist, speaking about ‘Passion! Eight Steps to Reignite Yours’ to the closing panel discussion about Minnesota Healthcare Market Innovations, the conference promises to spark ideas, promote collaboration and reinvigorate attendees,” says MMGMA President Sandra Rutherford, Chief Operating Officer, Kaleidoscope.

Other general session presentations include “Narrow Networks, Unbound Uncertainty” led by David Glaser, attorney with Fredrikson & Byron; “Employee Engagement Starts with You” with James Olney, Associated Benefits and Risk Consulting; and “Competition and Strategies in Minnesota’s Provider and Payer Markets” with Allan Baumgarten, Minneapolis healthcare market analyst. In addition, Suzanne Falk with national MMGMA Government Affairs will provide an important legislative update.

Breakout sessions are planned on a variety of topics. Alan Haskins, President and CEO of Nimble Impressions, will speak about “Marketing Your Practice: Thrive with an Effective Marketing Strategy.” Scott Nelson, Senior Partner, Clarity Central, will share his thoughts on “Courageous Conversations.” Ryan Johnson, Fredrikson & Byron attorney, will host two breakout sessions: one on “Telemedicine and Digital Health: What Every Practice Needs to Know” and the other on “Structuring Private Equity Healthcare Transactions: Navigating Stark, AKS and Other Regulatory Issues.”

Founded in 1951, the MMGMA is one of the largest state associations in the United States, offering advocacy, education, information and representation to its membership. Members include medical practice executives throughout Minnesota.

The MMGMA mission is to enable medical practice executives and their organizations to recognize and improve the health status of the community of patients they serve by promoting and delivering the physician/administrative team approach to health care and medical group management. MMGMA also focuses on enhancing a member’s professional role, knowledge and skills.
